Our Story

Carve on Lot 5

Step into an inviting atmosphere with historical charm, contemporary food, and a friendly vibe.

The heart of Brampton is at the intersection of Queen and Main Street and this is where our journey started. In 2014, restaurant owner, Pauline Dinner arranged a meeting with a couple of representatives from City Hall. There, she was shown future development plans for the downtown core and surrounding area. This peaked her interest and separated Brampton from other cities she had researched.

Pauline was later introduced to, and soon fell in love with, this wonderful empty heritage building which was located right smack in the middle of the development plan. She envisioned a modern day “carvery style” restaurant which would pay homage to traditional carvery dishes while adding a modern-day twist to them. Dishes would be served in a casual atmosphere, made from fresh ingredients, prepared with passion, and served with love.

Carve on Lot 5 is the fulfilment of Pauline’s vision. This modern historic venue now boasts a main floor bar and lounge, a second floor meeting and dining room, and a fabulous rooftop patio equipped with a bar and spectacular views of the downtown core. Warm rich woods, granite counter top bars, exposed brick, and restored original heritage ceilings, stairs and windows are what offer a familiar yet modern ambiance.

Carve on Lot 5 provides a welcoming atmosphere with familiar and friendly faces. We offer delicious and unique food that caters to the diverse people of Brampton and surrounding areas. Our goal is to provide meals that nourish the mind, heart and soul at an affordable price. We create a variety of menu items that accommodate those with food intolerance’s and sensitivities. We carry a modest wine list, quality spirits, local and international beers, and retro pop bottles in keeping with the “old-school” vibe. At Carve on Lot 5, we ensure our guests are catered to, comfortable and satisfied.

Pauline and her team are very proud to call Carve on Lot 5 our community restaurant as we grow with the downtown core. We thank you for all your love and support as we build on our passion for quality, flavor, and hard work. We look forward to serving you.

Be happy and healthy.

Take care,
Carve on Lot 5

Although I live quite a distance (Fort Erie Ont.) from
Carve, my best friends have been mote than once and Love it. On a personal note…just knowing Pauline & Marty is enough to entice me that this restaurant is run with class ,style and you will always be treated like family.

The place has a nice vibe. I do wish the food was a bit better. The taste is just not there! Need more love in the food!

So far I have only been there once… I had the Beef Dip sandwich with fries…both were outstanding…the beef was juicy and tender and the fries
    were second to none.
    I will be back.
